created by someone who needed this, too.

About The Gentle Grief

The Gentle Grief was created for the time after a loved one is gone — when it’s hard to put words to what you carry, and familiar language no longer fits.

We create practical resources without timelines or prescribed ways to use them.

Just tools you can choose, or not, as you see fit.

Why this exists

The Gentle Grief was created after my mum died suddenly due to preventable medical errors, while I was pregnant with my first child.

In the time that followed, I noticed a gap between what people experiencing grief are often offered, and what is actually useful.

Much of what exists is either overly clinical or emotionally prescriptive — telling people how to feel, how to heal, or how to move forward.

That wasn’t what I needed.

What helped

What helped were simple, practical acts:

writing things down

remembering deliberately

practicing presence

intentionality

exposure therapy

and just most importantly –

having spaces where grief could exist without

needing to be analysed or resolved.

What this is

The Gentle Grief exists to offer tools for that.

Journals, prompts, and resources designed to be used alongside life — not instead of it.

This work is not about fixing grief or moving past it.

It’s about creating practical ways to carry memory, love, and loss forward, on your own terms.

What's in a name?

Grief is rarely gentle.

But the way we meet it can be.

The Gentle Grief reflects the complexity of life — where more than one thing can be true at once.

As a daughter grieving her mother right at the moment of becoming a mother, I've experienced both grief and gentleness, intertwined across both journeys.

It felt right to honour both together.

With Care,

Kimi
